The Problem

THE SOLUTION

A lab test that provides objective biological data about the patient’s nasal inflammation to help with differential diagnosis, treatment monitoring and disease progression.

Despite the wide availability of treatments for chronic rhinosinusitis, there is no clear consensus on which combination of treatments would be most beneficial for patients in cases with overlapping disease states and other confounding factors. This gives rise to the following problems:

  1. 1. Patients are prescribed multiple “empirical” treatments (drugs, surgery and biologics) that demonstrate variable results, cause adverse events and result in significant healthcare inefficiency.
  2. 2. Patients undertake multiple CT scans which are costly and increase radiation exposure without significantly changing clinical outcomes.
  3. 3. Patients endure disruptive symptoms for extended periods of time before finding the right treatment or being referred to the appropriate specialist.
